May 22nd Winnie Report

Finally the fish decided to go crazy!!! We found a large school of all sizes in the 4-7 foot of water. 1/16 oz Northland Fireball jigs tipped with a silver shiner or chub worked great. The Parrot or Glow watermelon were our best colors. The heavy wind turned the lakes water temperature from 65 yesterday to 52 today. The stirring of the water helped move that warmer water on the surface. We did see most of the abitfish up in the shallows today. Look for area with the new weed growth to be key.

We will be back on Winnie again tomorrow.

Please note that when you leave the lake, make sure all the water is drained from your boat and livewells, the DNR is enforcing this extremely closely and from what I have heard, no warnings will be offered.

See you on the Water!
