Pokegama Night Bite stay’s good

We continue to find large pike with the Salmo #12 stings during the daylight while trolling them with leadcore line, then after dark even without a moon the night bite is still consistently good. The new Glow orange is catching most of our fish but the #12 Sting in the clown has been good to us as well. Look for the bite to continue strong through the Septemebr full moon, lots of good fishing ahead of us yet, in fact some of the best of the year is right around the corner.
I will not be posting until early next week as I will be away from the water until then, heading on a family vacation which does not include the boat, not sure if I can handle 5 days away!

Are you still seeing the most action in that 12 to 16 feet or so during the night right now? Also, what depths do you think fish will be holding in come the october full moon?
Colt,
10/4 on the depths. We have been pulling the #12 stings and the #5 Hornets with very good success while working the 12-16 FOW. October depths vary year to year and lake to lake, Pokegama stays consistent typically throughout the year, but we certainly work shallow water and find them in that 4-8 foot some nights, but more nights it seems the 10-16 FOW is the better depth.
I’m usually fishing Leech after dark in October and we find them in 4-6 foot. Lots of big fish over there in October!
I always see lots of walleyes on the humps in the early evening then as night approaches the fish disappear off the sonar. Some of these humps are far from shore. Any idea where the walleyes go at this time?
I think they slide off the edge and many of times suspend off the edges until they get hungry, then they move back up on the humps, or they start cruising looking for smelt. Great question!
